Ekadashi holds special significance in Hinduism. There are 24 Ekadashi fasts observed throughout the year, with one occurring twice every month. It is believed that on the day of Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped with special reverence. The month of Ashadha is considered extremely holy; consequently, the Ekadashi falling in this month holds particular importance. Yogini Ekadashi is approaching in just a few days.

According to the Vedic calendar, the Ashadha Krishna Ekadashi tithi (lunar day) begins around 7:46 PM on July 9 and concludes around 4:52 PM on July 10. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the sunrise date), the Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed on Friday, July 10.

**Significance of Yogini Ekadashi**
Yogini Ekadashi holds a special place in the scriptures. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi alongside Lord Vishnu (Sri Hari) on this day is considered highly auspicious. It is regarded as one of the most renowned Ekadashis. Observing a fast and performing worship on this day is said to yield merit equivalent to feeding 88,000 Brahmins. Furthermore, it leads to the fulfillment of all desires, liberation from every crisis, and freedom from poverty and sins, ushering happiness into one's life.

**What to do on the day of the Ekadashi fast?**
On the day of Ekadashi, one should wake up during *Brahma Muhurta* (the auspicious pre-dawn period), bathe, and take a vow (*Sankalp*) to observe the fast. During the worship, yellow sweets should be offered to Lord Vishnu, as the color yellow is considered dear to Lord Sri Hari. One should worship Goddess Lakshmi alongside Lord Vishnu. Offering water to a Peepal tree on this day is also considered auspicious.
