KL Rahul has continued his excellent IPL form in England. Rahul batted brilliantly against England Lions while playing for India A before the Test series against England. Rahul, who scored a century in the first innings, also scored a half-century in the second innings of the second unofficial Test and strengthened his claim as an opener for the Test series along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Rahul, an experienced right-handed batsman, has opened in Tests for Team India in England. He is well aware of the conditions in England.

KL Rahul was dismissed for 51 runs in the second innings on the third day of the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions at the County Cricket Ground in Northampton. He hit 9 fours in 64 balls. Rahul shared an 11-run partnership for the first wicket with Jaiswal, while he added 88 runs for the second wicket with captain Abhimanyu Easwaran. Easwaran also hit a brilliant fifty. However, in the second innings, Karun Nair could not show any special magic and was out after scoring 15 runs.
India A got a lead of 21 runs in the first innings.
KL Rahul had scored a century of 116 runs in 168 balls with the help of 15 fours and a six in the first innings. Rahul scored 167 runs in this match by combining both innings. Rahul being in form is a good sign for Team India. Earlier, with the four wickets of left-arm fast bowler Khalil Ahmed (four wickets for 70 runs), India A took a lead of 21 runs based on the first innings by bundling out England Lions for 327 runs till tea on the third day of the second unofficial Test here on Sunday.
India A had scored 348 runs in the first innings.
The England team started the day at 192 runs for three wickets and at one point in the morning session lost four wickets by adding only 10 runs. Fast bowlers Anshul Kamboj (2 wickets for 56 runs) and Tushar Deshpande (2 wickets for 62 runs) supported Khalil well by taking two wickets each. India A had scored 348 runs in the first innings. In the morning session, Jordan Cox (45) and captain James Rave (10) gave the host team a cautious start. Cox hit a four off Shardul Thakur but Khalil deprived him of a half-century by getting him caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel in the fifth over of the day and 51st over of the innings.

Khalil got captain Rave caught by Karun Nair in the 55th over and then bowled George Hill (00) with a yorker on the next ball. Khalil broke the back of the middle order of England Lions by getting Chris Woakes (05) caught behind the wicket in the next over. Farhan Ahmed (24) and Max Holden (07) batted cautiously and stopped the fall of wickets. Deshpande then returned to bowling and Holden played his fast incoming delivery onto the wickets. Farhan and Josh Tung (36 not out) however did not let the team suffer any further setbacks till lunch. After lunch, Nitish Kumar Reddy broke this partnership by getting Farhan caught by Lokesh Rahul. Tung and 19-year-old Eddie Jack (16), who was playing his second first-class match, troubled the Indian bowlers a lot. Both of them made a valuable partnership of 48 runs for the 10th wicket.
