Ramayana: In 'Ramayana', Ranbir will be seen not only as 'Ram' but also in this avatar of Lord Vishnu..

Nitesh Tiwari’s *Ramayana* is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2026. Ranbir Kapoor stars in the lead role in this movie. Now, a major piece of news regarding *Ramayana* has surfaced: Ranbir Kapoor himself has confirmed that he will be playing a double role in the film. He will not only appear in the central role of Lord Rama but will also be seen portraying the powerful character of Lord Parashurama. Ranbir Kapoor confirmed this information personally.

Recently, during the teaser launch event for *Ramayana* in Los Angeles, Ranbir Kapoor spoke candidly about this subject. He explained that while both Rama and Parashurama are avatars of Lord Vishnu, their temperaments and personalities are vastly different from one another. He stated, "On one hand, there is the gentleness of Rama, and on the other, the intensity of Parashurama. To portray these two characters, I have worked on my body language and voice in two very distinct ways."

**Confirmed by Ranbir Kapoor Himself**
Interestingly, the film's teaser offered a fleeting glimpse of the double role, yet fans remained in suspense until now. Ranbir's recent statement has finally clarified that audiences will witness the convergence of two avatars on the silver screen. Describing this experience as "wonderful," Ranbir Kapoor remarked, "For me, it was a magnificent opportunity to have the chance to portray the character of Lord Parashurama alongside that of Lord Rama. As an actor, I believe that body language alone is not sufficient; one must delve deep to truly understand the soul, spirituality, and emotions of the character."

He further revealed that he had dedicated significant effort—starting a full year before filming began—to understanding the nature and motivations of these two legendary characters. The teaser for Nitesh Tiwari’s *Ramayana* also offers a glimpse of the confrontation between Rama and Parashurama—an event which, according to mythological lore, occurs as Rama is returning to Ayodhya following his marriage to Sita. According to the legend, Parashurama challenged Rama to a duel; however, upon realizing that Rama was also an avatar of Lord Vishnu, he calmed down. In this particular scene from the teaser, Ravi Dubey is seen in the role of Lakshmana, while Arun Govil appears as King Dasharatha.
