Former England spinner Monty Panesar has given his opinion on Virat Kohli's retirement from Tests. Kohli had said goodbye to Test cricket before the five-match series against England starting on June 20. Panesar believes that Kohli retired from Test cricket due to the lack of a solution to the problem of repeatedly struggling with the ball outside the off stump.

Panesar, who played 50 Tests for England and contributed to the Test victory in India in 2012, said that Kohli found it more difficult to deal with the balls moving around the off stump than in his previous tours of England. Kohli made a great comeback in England in 2018 after a poor tour of 2014. In the year 2014, James Anderson troubled this legendary batsman a lot.
The team has gone on tour without Rohit-Kohli.
The Indian team has gone on a tour of England without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. India has not won a Test series in England since 2007 and Team India will come here to end the 18-year drought. Panesar said in a conversation with the news agency PTI, that what has happened with Kohli is that he was struggling with the ball outside the off stump, the line of the fifth stump, especially on the high-bounce pitches in Australia. So he might have thought that the ball would swing more in England, he probably did not solve the problem on the ball outside the off stump. I think this might have been one of the reasons why he thought of retiring and putting all his energy into ODIs for RCB and India. Panesar said that Kohli had the answers to make a comeback in 2018, but it would naturally be very difficult to do so at this stage of his career. He said I think he has performed very well as a cricketer in all formats. He has been a great ambassador of Test cricket. They probably feel they have done their best, they have achieved everything and maybe they feel it is time for the youth to come forward.
