Indian team's star batsman Virat Kohli is known for his aggression on the cricket field. Apart from batting, Kohli also gets overexcited during fielding. Many times memes have been made on social media regarding this, which shows that Kohli gets more excited than the bowler when a wicket falls. Kohli is currently playing in the Champions Trophy and he has answered why he gets so excited on the field.
Kohli became the seventh Indian to play 300th match in ODIs
Kohli had achieved another big feat as soon as he entered the Champions Trophy match against New Zealand on Sunday. This was the 300th match of Kohli's ODI career. Before Kohli, six players from India have played 300 or more ODI matches. Among them, the name of former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket, is recorded at the top. He has scored 18426 runs in 463 matches. On the second position is Mahendra Singh Dhoni who represented India in 347 ODIs. Rahul Dravid (340) is third, Mohammad Azharuddin (334) fourth, Sourav Ganguly (308) fifth and Yuvraj Singh (301) sixth.
Kohli said - I want to enjoy every moment with the team.
ICC shared a video on its social media in which Kohli was asked why he celebrates more excitedly than the bowler when a wicket falls. On this, Kohli said, for me, playing on the field has always been a matter of joy and usually you play to win. For me, if a wicket is falling, it is a step closer to victory, which is a very important thing for me.
Kohli said, in a team game, you have to work hard along with 10 other players. I want to enjoy every moment with the team and celebrate which helps in achieving victory.
The Indian team's journey in the Champions Trophy has been great so far and the team has qualified for the semi-finals by winning all its three matches in the group stage. India will now face ODI World Cup champions Australia in the semi-finals on Tuesday. Kohli will be expected to play a big innings in this match.
