Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Course: Appetizer
Servings: 2 people
Cuisine: Indian

Ingredients for Dahi Kebab:
Hung curd – 1.5 cups
Paneer (cottage cheese) – 1/2 cup
Gram flour (besan) – 2 to 3 tablespoons
Breadcrumbs – 1/2 cup
Green chilies – 1-2
Ginger – 1 teaspoon
Cashews – 8-10
Fresh coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Garam masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Oil/Ghee – for shallow frying

Method for making Dahi Kebab:

First, take the thick hung curd and grated paneer in a large bowl. Add the roasted gram flour, finely chopped green chilies, grated ginger, chopped cashews, and fresh coriander leaves.

Next, add the black pepper powder, garam masala, cardamom powder, and salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients gently until the mixture forms a soft, dough-like consistency.

Grease your hands with a little oil or water, take small portions of the mixture, and shape them into patties (tikkis) or kebabs.

After shaping, gently roll the kebabs in a plate of breadcrumbs. Heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil or ghee in a non-stick tawa or pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the kebabs in the pan and shallow-fry them over low to medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides.

After frying, transfer the kebabs onto a paper towel and serve them with green mint chutney, onion rings (laccha pyaaz), and lemon wedges.
