Silver Price Today: Silver prices witnessed fresh movement on July 25 as gains in the international market pushed domestic futures higher. While MCX silver rose above ₹2.22 lakh per kilogram in early trade, retail prices varied across cities. Here are the latest silver rates, market trends, and city-wise prices before you plan your next purchase or investment.
Silver Prices Rise as Global Market Sentiment Improves
Silver prices registered notable volatility on Saturday amid renewed geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which continued to influence global precious metal markets. The uncertainty boosted investor interest in safe-haven assets, leading to gains in both gold and silver futures.
In the domestic market, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) silver futures advanced sharply during morning trading. The contract climbed 1.33% (₹2,926) to reach ₹2,22,301 per kilogram, compared with the previous session's closing level of ₹2,19,375 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, international silver prices also moved higher, with spot silver trading at around $58.49 per ounce, reflecting continued strength in global bullion markets.
Bullion Market Update
According to bullion market data, silver was trading near ₹2,22,830 per kilogram during the day. However, the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) reported that silver settled at ₹2,19,556 per kilogram when markets closed on Friday.
Since bullion markets remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays, the IBJA reference price continues to remain applicable until trading resumes on the next business day.
Despite the strength in futures, retail prices may differ across cities depending on transportation costs, dealer margins, local demand, and applicable taxes.
Delhi Bullion Market Records Price Correction
While futures prices moved upward, the Delhi bullion market witnessed a correction in physical silver prices. Dealers reported that silver prices in the national capital eased by ₹5,000 per kilogram, bringing the rate down to ₹2,24,700 per kilogram, inclusive of taxes.
At the same time, retail market tracking platform Goodreturns reported silver prices at approximately ₹2,40,000 per kilogram in several cities.
The difference between exchange-traded futures and retail prices is common because physical bullion rates include additional factors such as taxes, logistics, and dealer premiums.

How Silver Performed in the Previous Trading Session
The domestic bullion market ended Friday on a weaker note due to subdued buying activity and increased selling pressure.
According to bullion traders, silver prices in Delhi declined by ₹5,000 per kilogram, closing at ₹2,24,700 per kilogram, including taxes. During the previous session, silver had settled around ₹2,29,700 per kilogram, indicating a significant day-on-day correction in the physical market.
However, the global trend remained positive. International spot silver gained nearly 2%, reaching approximately $58.59 per ounce, supported by increased investor demand amid geopolitical uncertainty and a cautious market outlook.
Why Silver Prices Change Every Day
Silver prices are influenced by several domestic and international factors, including:
- Global geopolitical developments that increase demand for safe-haven assets.
- International silver prices in major commodity markets.
- Movement in the US dollar and currency exchange rates.
- Industrial demand, as silver is widely used in electronics, solar panels, and manufacturing.
- Investment demand through futures trading, ETFs, and physical bullion purchases.
- Local taxes, transportation costs, and dealer margins, which create price differences between cities.
Should Buyers Check Prices Before Purchasing?
Whether you are purchasing silver jewellery, coins, bars, or investing in bullion, checking the latest city-wise rates before making a purchase is always advisable. Market prices can fluctuate due to global events, currency movements, and domestic demand, making daily price tracking an important step for both investors and retail buyers.
