The Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3, 2025, and will continue till August 9, 2025. You must be wondering what is so special about this cave that lakhs of people are eager to visit here. The way to get here is very difficult. The weather also changes every moment and tests physical abilities.

Lord Bholenath narrated the story of Amrit to Mata Parvati in this cave. When he was going to listen to the story, he left Nandi in Pahalgam on the way.

After this, the snake was left at Pissu Top. The moon was left at Chandanwadi, and son Ganesh was left on Mahagunas mountain. He wanted to ensure that only Mother Parvati listened to this story.

Shivling was formed naturally.
For this reason, he reached the 19-meter-long, 16-meter-wide, and 11-meter-high Amarnath cave made of limestone and gypsum. When Lord Bholenath narrated this story of Amrit to Mother Parvati, a natural Shivling was formed in the cave.

Since then, every year in the month of Shravan, the Shivling is formed naturally in this cave. After Amavasya, this natural ice Shivling starts decreasing, which is no less than a miracle of nature.

Salvation is attained through the journey
During this time, there was also a pair of pigeons in the cave, which became immortal after listening to this story of immortality. In search of this immortality and to get rid of the bondage of attachment and to attain salvation, people go to visit Baba Barfani.
