The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has showered money on the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy. The board has announced a cash prize of Rs 58 crore for Team India. This financial benefit will be given to the players, coaching and support staff as well as the members of the men's selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar. The board did not give details of the award in its statement.

BCCI President Roger Binny said in a release, "Winning consecutive ICC titles is special and this award recognizes Team India's dedication and excellence on the global stage." India won the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. This was India's second consecutive ICC tournament title. Earlier in 2024, Team India won the T20 World Cup.
Binny said that the victory in the Champions Trophy is a hallmark of India's strong cricket ecosystem. He said, 'This is our second ICC title in 2025. The ICC Under 19 Women's team also won the World Cup. This proves how strong the cricket ecosystem is in the country. The Indian team also won the T20 World Cup last year.

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that this victory proves that India deserves the top ranking in limited-ball formats. What happened in the final match?
Winning the toss and batting first in the final, New Zealand scored 251 runs in 50 overs, losing seven wickets. In reply, India achieved the target in 49 overs, losing six wickets. Rohit played a captaincy innings. He scored 76 runs and pulled India out of difficult situations. This was India's seventh ICC trophy. Earlier, the team won the 1983 and 2011 ODI World Cup, the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup, and the 2002, 2013, and 2025 Champions Trophy titles. India was undefeated throughout the tournament. It won five matches in a row. After defeating Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stage, the Indian team defeated Australia in the semi-finals and the Kiwis again in the final.

After becoming champion, there was a rain of money from ICC.
After becoming the champion, the winning Indian team also got a rain of money in the form of prize money. The Indian team got 2.4 million US dollars i.e. about 19.5 crore rupees. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had increased the prize money for the Champions Trophy by 53 percent compared to the last time. The total prize money of this tournament increased to 6.9 million dollars (about 60 crore rupees). Apart from the winner, the runner-up New Zealand team got 1.12 million dollars (about 9.72 crore rupees), while both the teams that were eliminated in the semi-finals, Australia and South Africa, got 56000 dollars (4.86 crore rupees).
