Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: The Delhi government has officially launched the online registration portal for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, allowing eligible women to apply for monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500. Online Applications Now Open

The Delhi government has started accepting online applications for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana through its newly launched portal.

According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the scheme is designed to provide direct financial support to eligible women across the national capital. The government has allocated a budget of ₹5,100 crore for the implementation of the programme.

Officials stated that hundreds of applications were successfully submitted soon after the portal became operational.

Six Documents Required for Registration

Applicants must upload the following documents while completing the online application process:

• Recommendation or endorsement letter from the local MLA or MP.
• Aadhaar Card.
• PAN Card.
• Valid Income Certificate.
• Aadhaar-linked single-holder bank account details.
• Delhi Voter ID Card or proof of residing in Delhi for at least 10 years.

Incomplete applications or missing documents may delay the verification process.

Who Can Apply?

The government has prescribed several eligibility conditions for receiving benefits under the scheme.

A woman can apply if she meets the following criteria:

• She is the eldest eligible woman in the family.
• She is between 21 and 60 years of age.
• The total annual family income does not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.
• She is a registered voter in Delhi.
• She has been residing in Delhi for at least 10 years.

Who Is Not Eligible?

Two Payment Options Available

Beneficiaries can choose one of the following methods for receiving the monthly assistance of ₹2,500:

Option 1

• ₹1,000 will be credited every month to a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet for routine expenses.
• The remaining ₹1,500 will be deposited into a Recurring Deposit (RD) or Fixed Deposit (FD) account with a mandatory three-year lock-in period.

Option 2

Applicants may choose to have the entire ₹2,500 deposited directly into an RD or FD account to encourage long-term savings.

Restrictions on Fund Usage

The Delhi government has imposed strict conditions on how the financial assistance can be used.

The scheme amount cannot be spent on:

• Alcohol.
• Tobacco products.
• Lottery tickets.
• Betting or gambling.
• Any other prohibited goods or services.

Authorities have warned that anyone obtaining benefits through false declarations or fraudulent information will face legal proceedings, and the government may recover the amount disbursed.
