World number-2 tennis player Carlos Alcaraz of Spain defeated world number-one player Jannik Sinner of Italy 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) in the longest final match of French Open history, which lasted five sets, to win the French Open 2025 title. This match lasted for 5 hours and 29 minutes. 

Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, who won the French Open title, has received 2 lakh 55 thousand euros (about Rs 25 crore) as a prize. Which is Rs 5 crore more than IPL 2025. Royal Challengers Bangalore, who won the IPL title, got Rs 20 crore. Italy's Jannik Sinner has received Rs 12 crore. The same amount has been given in the women's category as well.

Carlos Alcaraz got the full support of the audience in this title match played on Roland Garros' Philippe Chatrier Court on Sunday, June 8. Alcaraz has won the men's singles title at the French Open for the second consecutive year. While Sinner reached the French Open final for the first time. Alcaraz has so far won two Wimbledon (2023, 2024), two French Open (2024, 2025) and one US Open (2022) titles.

After the French Open title match was tied 2-2, 22-year-old Alcaraz and 23-year-old Sinner showed their best game in the fifth and decisive set. The final set also reached a 5-5 tie after 53 minutes of play. In the 67th minute of the fifth set, both again came to a tie at 6-6. In the end, Alcaraz did not give Sinner a chance in the tiebreaker and won both the set and the title by a margin of 7-6. 

Earlier in the semi-finals, Jannik Sinner defeated Serbia's Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (3) to make it to the title match of this tournament for the first time. On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz defeated eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals. However, Musetti left that match midway due to injury. At that time Alcaraz was leading 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 2-0.
