This sacred 10-day festival will conclude with the immersion of the Ganpati idol (*Visarjan*) on Anant Chaturdashi. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi falls on September 14, 2026. Notably, Hartalika Teej also coincides with this day. Points to Remember for Ganpati Installation and Worship

Avoid sighting the moon: According to religious belief, sighting the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi is considered inauspicious. It is advised to avoid looking at the moon on September 14 between 09:12 AM and 08:58 PM. It is believed that sighting the moon during this period can lead to false accusations or stigma (*Mithya Kalank*).

Direction and platform (*Chauki*) for worship: Install the new idol of Lord Ganesha on a wooden platform (*Chauki*) in the *Ishaan Kon* (northeast corner) or the eastern direction of the house. Spreading a clean red or yellow cloth on the platform is considered auspicious.

Worship materials and offerings (*Bhog*): Be sure to offer *Durva* grass, red flowers (such as hibiscus), *Akshat* (unbroken rice grains), and *Shami* leaves during the Ganpati worship. Offering *Modaks* or *Besan Laddoos* (gram flour sweets) to Lord Ganesha is considered auspicious.

**Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Rituals**

After bathing in the morning, wear clean clothes and clean the place of worship. Sprinkle *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges) or pure water.
Spread a red or yellow cloth on a raised platform (*chowki*), place some *Akshat* (unbroken rice grains) on it, and install the idol of Lord Ganesha.
