Hair Home Remedy: Make a hair tonic using banana peels for dry, lifeless hair—here’s how..

There is no doubt that bananas are packed with healthy properties. But did you know that the banana peel—which you might otherwise discard as waste—can actually be used for hair care? You can easily prepare a hair rinse or tonic at home using banana peels. Making it requires neither significant expense nor the purchase of any special products from the market. If your hair is dry and lifeless, you can incorporate this into your hair care routine.

How to make a hair tonic from banana peels
Ingredients
2 fresh banana peels
1–2 cups of water
1 clean spray bottle
A few drops of rose water (optional)

Method
Start by taking two fresh banana peels and washing them thoroughly with clean water.
Next, cut the peels into small pieces.
Pour about 2 cups of water into a pan and add the banana peel pieces.
Let it simmer over low heat for 10–15 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the water to cool down completely.
Strain the liquid and pour it into a clean spray bottle.
If you like, you can add a few drops of rose water for a pleasant fragrance.

How to use it on your hair?
After shampooing, apply a small amount of this tonic along the lengths of your hair. Rinse your hair with clean water after a few minutes. If you have a sensitive scalp, be sure to perform a patch test before application. Do not use it if you experience itching, irritation, or redness.

You can also use it in hair masks
You can add a small amount of this banana-peel-infused water to a hair mask made with aloe vera gel or yogurt. Apply this mixture along the lengths of your hair and rinse thoroughly after some time.

Precautions for storing the tonic
This tonic does not contain any preservatives. Therefore, store it in a clean bottle in the refrigerator and use it within 24–48 hours. If it develops an unpleasant odor, changes color, or shows signs of mold, discard it immediately.
