The monsoon became active again in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, bringing thunderstorms and rain to several districts across the Terai and Bundelkhand regions. Etawah recorded the highest rainfall at 42 mm, followed by Siddharthnagar with 28.6 mm and Hamirpur with 28 mm.

**Orange Alert for Seven Districts, Yellow Alert for 18**
The Meteorological Department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for very heavy rainfall on Tuesday in seven districts, including Sonbhadra, Saharanpur, and Muzaffarnagar. Meanwhile, a 'Yellow Alert' has been issued for 18 districts due to the likelihood of heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also predicted for 61 other districts across the state.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, the northward shift of the monsoon trough and the strengthening of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal are expected to bring rainfall—ranging from light-to-moderate to heavy—to several districts in the Terai and southern Uttar Pradesh from Tuesday through July 30.

The weather in the capital shifted on Monday. As the day progressed, cloud cover increased, leading to alternating spells of sunshine and shade. Residents contended with sultry heat until the afternoon, after which drizzling occurred in several areas. A total of 9.4 mm of rainfall was recorded. The rain caused the maximum temperature to drop by 4.4 degrees Celsius, bringing some relief to the weather conditions. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and drizzle are likely on Tuesday as well. This could lead to a further drop in daytime temperatures. Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, stated that the intensification of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is creating favorable conditions for rain in the capital. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.3 degrees Celsius, and the minimum at 27.6 degrees Celsius.
