It is common to find idols or pictures of Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, Hanuman Ji, and other deities in home shrines. Similarly, most households also have an image or idol of Lord Krishna. Devotees worship various forms of Lord Krishna according to their faith, with each form holding its own unique significance. Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay, an astrologer from Kashi, has provided guidance on which form of Lord Krishna is best suited for a home shrine and how it should be worshipped.
**Worship of Various Forms of Lord Krishna**
Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay explained that different sects worship different forms of Lord Krishna. Many sects worship the adolescent form of the Lord; in this manifestation, He appears holding a flute. In many depictions, He is also shown accompanied by a cow.
Additionally, the infant form of Lord Krishna—known as *Bal Gopal*—is also worshipped. According to Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay, the *Laddu Gopal* form is considered the most ideal for installation in a home shrine, and it is a form that people can easily worship in their daily lives.
**Treating Laddu Gopal Like a Son**
Pandit Sanjay Upadhyay noted that once the infant form of Lord Krishna is installed at home, devotees treat Him like a child. Consequently, many regard *Laddu Gopal* as a member of the family and even take Him along when going out. Devotees remain attentive to His needs and care, especially during rituals and the offering of *Bhog* (sacred food).
**Daily Worship of Laddu Gopal**
He advised that if *Laddu Gopal* is installed in the home, He should be worshipped daily. During worship, He is bathed with milk, *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges), and *Panchamrit*. Afterward, *Bhog* is offered, and the ritual concludes with the lighting of incense and *diyas* (lamps). It is particularly important to offer *Makhan* (fresh white butter) as *Bhog* when the infant form of Lord Krishna is worshipped at home. According to religious belief, worshipping with such devotion ensures that the grace of Lord Shri Krishna remains upon the devotees.
