The Maha Kumbh is over but facilities will remain at Sangam
The Maha Kumbh ended on Wednesday with the Mahashivratri bathing festival, but facilities will remain at Sangam and surrounding areas. There are chances of a large number of bathers coming in the future as well. Given this possibility, it has been decided to keep the necessary facilities.

Devotees have started coming throughout the year for the Sangam bath. Given this, facilities like electricity, toilets, etc. have been maintained in the Sangam area except during the flood days. After Mahakumbh 2025, the color of the Sangam area has become more bright on the map of world tourism.

There was a continuous crowd of bathers in the Mahakumbh. This trend is expected to continue in the future as well. A large number of devotees are waiting for the crowd to reduce. Officials say that they are now preparing for the Sangam bath. Apart from this, Prayagraj has also been included in the circuit of the religious cities of Kashi and Ayodhya. Keeping this in mind, tour packages have also started being planned by travel agencies.

In such a situation, there is a possibility of the crowd at Sangam in the coming days as well. Given the possibility of this crowd of devotees and tourists, the district administration and the Mela Authority have decided to keep the essential services restored. Under this, checkered plates will be laid at Sangam and surrounding areas, parade, etc. Facilities like electricity, toilets, drinking water etc. will remain restored.

There will also be shops at Kila Ghat and other major places. So that, apart from food, other essential items are available. Security personnel will also be deployed as per the need. There will also be parking arrangements near Sangam. If the number of vehicles increases, vehicles will also be parked in the parade. Apart from these, other essential facilities will also remain available.

Mahakumbh ended with Mahashivratri. The formal closing ceremony will be held on Thursday. The work of removing the settlements in the fair area has started. Except for essential facilities, all other types of temporary constructions will be removed in a week. -Vijay Kiran Anand, Fair Officer
