According to Pandit Kalki Ram, the number of incense sticks used during worship in the home shrine is significant. He explained that, according to religious beliefs, one should avoid lighting just one or three incense sticks. Instead, the tradition suggests lighting 2, 5, 7, 9, or 11 incense sticks. It is believed that this practice fosters positive energy in the home and dispels negativity.

**Keep the lamp vessel clean**
Pandit Kalki Ram emphasized that the vessel used for the ritual lamp must always be kept clean. If ash or residue remains after the previous day's wick has burned out, it should not be scattered carelessly; instead, it should be collected in one place. A new wick and oil or ghee should be added to the lamp only after the vessel has been cleaned.

**Do not light incense sticks from the lamp's flame**
Another point to consider during worship is that, according to Pandit Kalki Ram, incense sticks should not be lit using the flame of the burning lamp. This practice is not considered appropriate according to religious beliefs. Therefore, incense sticks should be lit separately, avoiding the use of the lamp's flame.

**A remedy for Amavasya and Purnima**
According to Pandit Kalki Ram, the wicks used during worship can be collected and stored together. There is also a tradition of placing a little camphor with these wicks on *Amavasya* (new moon day) or *Purnima* (full moon day), lighting them, and wafting the smoke throughout the house. It is a religious belief that this keeps the atmosphere of the home pure and positive.
