Who are the Chief Guests this year?
This year, India has created a new history in diplomacy. In fact, not one, but two chief guests have been invited for Republic Day 2026. Both are top leaders of the European Union:

This is the first time that the top leadership of the European Union has been jointly invited in this manner, which reflects the strengthening relations between India and Europe.

What is the theme for 2026?
This year's Republic Day theme is extremely historic. The government has decided to celebrate this year as the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram'.

Tableaux: A total of 30 tableaux will be showcased on Kartavya Path this time. These will include tableaux from 17 states/union territories and 13 ministries.

Special Animal Contingent: The Indian Army will showcase Bactrian camels (two-humped camels), Zanskar ponies (horses from Ladakh), and raptors (birds of prey) this time.

End of VIP Culture: This time, the seating areas for spectators will not be named 'VVIP' or 'VIP', but after the rivers of India (such as Ganga, Yamuna, Kaveri).

Women's Power and Drones: The parade will feature 'Drone Shakti' and modern weaponry, along with significant participation from women soldiers.

Flypast: Indian Air Force aircraft like the Rafale, Sukhoi-30, and Tejas will showcase their might in the skies.

Public Participation: Approximately 10,000 'special guests' have been invited to watch the parade, who are ordinary citizens who have done commendable work in various fields.
Operation Sindoor: 'Operation Sindoor' will also be given a special tribute during the parade.

Beating Retreat: The 'Beating Retreat' ceremony on January 29, which concludes the Republic Day celebrations, will also feature predominantly Indian tunes.
