According to the Hindu calendar, the first day of Sawan falls on the *Pratipada Tithi* (first day of the lunar fortnight). This year, the *Pratipada Tithi* of the *Krishna Paksha* (waning phase) of the Sawan month begins at 8:05 PM on July 29 and ends at 9:30 PM on July 30. Consequently, the first sunrise of Sawan will occur at 5:41 AM on July 30. Based on this, the first day of Sawan is Thursday, July 30.

Auspicious Timings (Muhurat) for the First Day of Sawan 2026
The first day of Sawan features *Ayushman Yoga* and the *Shravan Nakshatra*. The *Brahma Muhurat* on that day is from 4:18 AM to 4:59 AM; one can bathe and perform worship during this period. *Brahma Muhurat* is considered the ideal time for bathing.

When should the *Jalabhishek* (ritual bathing with water) be performed on the first day of *Sawan*?

If you wish to perform the *Jalabhishek* of the *Shivling* on the first day of *Sawan*, you may do so during *Brahma Muhurat*. Additionally, you can perform the ritual during the auspicious *Shubh-Uttam Muhurat* between 05:41 AM and 07:23 AM.
