Yellow Sapphire Rules: Know these important rules before wearing a Yellow Sapphire..

In Vedic astrology, the Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) is considered the primary gemstone associated with the planet Jupiter (Guru). It is believed that wearing this gem helps one attain the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Brihaspati, the preceptor of the gods. According to astrology, the Yellow Sapphire is highly beneficial for individuals who have Jupiter in a favorable position in their birth chart or who have been advised to strengthen the influence of Jupiter. It is considered particularly auspicious for natives of the Sagittarius and Pisces signs, as Jupiter is the ruling planet for both. However, one should not wear a Yellow Sapphire without consulting a qualified astrologer, as it may not be equally beneficial for everyone.

**Auspicious to wear while chanting this mantra**
Pandit Kalki Ram of Ayodhya states that the Yellow Sapphire should be worn on a Thursday during an auspicious time (*muhurta*). Setting it in a gold ring is considered the best option. The night before wearing it, the gemstone is purified by placing it in *Panchamrit* (a mixture of five sacred ingredients). There is also a tradition of performing a ritual bath (*abhishek*) for the gem using Gangajal (holy water from the Ganges), raw milk, honey, and ghee. On Thursday morning, after bathing, sit facing the east or north, apply a *tilak* of turmeric to the gemstone, and offer yellow flowers. Then, while chanting the mantra "Om Gram Grim Graum Sah Gurave Namah" at least 108 times, wear the ring on the index finger of your right hand. It is also believed that donating yellow-colored items on this day yields auspicious results.

**Reduction in anger, increase in courage**
According to astrological beliefs, the Yellow Sapphire symbolizes prosperity, wisdom, health, longevity, and financial growth. It helps boost self-confidence, strengthens decision-making abilities, and provides mental peace. Many believe that wearing it can lead to positive outcomes in matters related to career, education, and marriage. It is also believed to reduce anger, foster positive thinking, and increase courage. However, there is no scientific evidence to support these claims, and they should be viewed solely as matters of religious and traditional belief.

**When are the benefits not realized?** If a Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) does not align with an individual's horoscope, or if a fake or flawed gemstone is worn, the expected benefits are not realized. According to astrological beliefs, wearing an unsuitable Yellow Sapphire can lead to obstacles in financial progress, marital issues, or health-related problems. Therefore, it is advisable to consult an experienced astrologer before wearing the gemstone.

How to Distinguish Between Real and Fake
A high-quality Yellow Sapphire should be transparent, lustrous, and free from spots or cracks, with a color ranging from light to deep yellow. It feels relatively heavy when held in the hand. A stone with an attractive yellow hue—resembling the flowers of the Yellow Oleander (Kaner), Champa, or Amaltas—along with a smooth surface and natural luster, is considered superior. It is always best to purchase a certified, natural gemstone from a reliable seller.
